The list of super exotic cars in Jamaica keeps on rising. The latest addition is a Lamborghini. Say whaaa….? Yes, a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2. It’s super fast, super loud and super expensive. How expensive? Well, it may cost more than 16 times the value of a 2016 Toyota Mark X to have one brought to Jamaica.
The Huracan has a naturally aspirated 5.2 liter V10 engine that revs past 8000 RPM. This creates a glorious high pitched howl that resembles that of formula one cars. And it doesn’t take a car enthusiast to admire its stunning looks. Just about anyone will be will be amazed.
|Engine||5.2 Litre V10|
|0 to 100km/h||3.2 seconds|
|Top Speed||202 mph / 325 km/h|
What makes it special
A number of things makes this car special to local enthusiasts. Firstly, it’s a Lamborghini. That name gives an electrifying tingle which can’t be done by the mention of “BMW” or “Mercedes Benz”. And so it attracts way more adoration. Secondly, its the only Lambo in the island. Except for the Ferrari, all other exotics in our island are here in multiple copies. Lastly, it’s a Mid engined car. With our streets awash with the common front engine layout staple, it’s always a pleasant experience to feast the eyes on a mid engined car.
More exotics to come
I beleive that the Ferrari opened the door to other exotics that came after it. It is no doubt a huge motivating factor for those who have the cash but are on the fence about making that big purchase. The Huracan definitely follows on the heels of the Ferrari. If another Lambo is to come, I hope that one is an Aventador. Maybe a McLaren will find its way here before 2019 is out.
